Epitalon

Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed as a synthetic analog of the pineal peptide preparation epithalamin. It is used in cellular-senescence, telomere-biology, and chronobiology research as a tool compound for examining telomerase activity, chromatin organization, and circadian gene expression in cell-culture and preclinical models. Supplied as a lyophilized powder, 11 mg per vial.

Published cell-culture work reports that Epitalon can induce telomerase expression and extend the replicative capacity of human somatic cell lines, supporting its use as a tool for studying telomere maintenance mechanisms.

Storage & Handling

Store lyophilized material at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening. Following reconstitution in a suitable laboratory buffer, store at 2–8 °C and use within the timeframe established by your laboratory’s stability protocols. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. Handle in accordance with standard laboratory practice for peptide reagents.
